This is great news for the world of Shiatsu. We have just learnt that, after a long period of work, the company has just completed level 6 of the EQF (European Qualification Framework) system on 10 April 2024. This long-term project is supported by the European Shiatsu Federation.
It began with a meeting at Eduard Tripp’s residence in Karinthia, Austria, in 2016, continued in Uppsala, Sweden, in 2018, was presented in Bergamo, Italy, in 2019, and is now, five long years later, cemented in official language.
From here, the ESF is aiming for the European Qualifications Framework for diplomas, which would eventually lead to recognition and diplomas such as bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees. Work is continuing to make Shiatsu an autonomous profession in Europe, which is the ESF’s declared objective.
